Toby's particular breed of fae have a few nifty sensory abilities, so I need some quick input.

1) She can detect the species (singular or plural) that make up someone's bloodline. This doesn't let her identify a specific individual, unless that individual's the only one of their kind, or give her a label for something she's never encountered before (she could tell that two members of species Unknown X are both Unknown X, but not that "Unknown X" is, say, waheela if she's never been told what a waheela is), but it does bypass illusions and most forms of shapeshifting.

2) She can smell an individual's magic. This does let her identify a specific person (or their spells), as everyone's magic has a unique scent that can't be faked or copied. Magical signatures are typically made up of two components. One of these is almost always plant-based, the other can be pretty much anything (metals, types of smoke, and precipitation are some of the more common canon examples, but there's no real limit).

What is your character? A Nation! A magical being whose existence is rooted in the land, identity, and spirit of a people and culture. He appears human, but his longevity and rapid healing and conditional immortality tends to give him away.

What does your character's magic smell like? It most likely smells overwhelmingly like the sea, along with lilies and herbs- many different herbs. Basil most prominently, with many others all being more secondary notes.
